If you're blessed with the gift of youth, this coin may well be older than you. Think of all the events this little disc of metal has endured. Never speaking, never commenting; just sitting there with it's solid determination to do it's job, and do it well. The number of people whose hands this coin has passed through. You may even know one or even two of them. You definitely don't know them all. All those foolish, foolish people who for a glorious moment held this shining miracle, and let it pass.

And you will too. By definition. It's the nature of money. We're all desperate to get our hands on it, and just as desperate to get rid of it.

Let's start at the very beginning...
